Looking for work?

Event Date: 18/05/2017 - 18/05/2017

Looking for work? - jobs fair could be the answer

A Jobs and Skills Fair is being hosted next week in Pembroke Dock.

Organised by Pembrokeshire County Council's Workways+ team, the event aims to bring together those looking for work with local employers.

Workways+ is a major EU-funded project which works with long term unemployed and economically inactive people to help them overcome barriers to employment and volunteering.

The Fair is being staged at Pembroke Dock's Bridge Innovation Centre between 10 am and 2 pm on Thursday, 18th May, and is open to anyone to attend.

It links with the National Skills for Work Week which runs from 15th to the 21st May.

Ellie Brick, Performance and Quality Manager at Workways+, said that the employers taking part will be looking to recruit and urged those attending to take a CV with them.

Ellie explained: "There are currently vacancies in retail, construction, health and social care and leisure and tourism as well as other industries so it could be a possible life-changing event for some people.

"Having the opportunity to talk directly to recruiting managers is an opportunity not to be missed."

As well as information on apprenticeships and training opportunities, Business Wales is hosting a start-up and self-employment workshop between 11.15 am and 12.15 pm.

Workways+ is backed by £7.5 million of EU funds through the Welsh Government. The project is led by Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council in collaboration with Swansea, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion councils.
